Valparaiso - transcribed by Charlie Frice
Here's a shot at Valparaiso
e---------------12------10--14--15--------------10--9--8----------9--10-----------
B-----------8------------------------12-----10------------10--12--------12------12
G---9--11-------------------------------------------------------------------12----
There's the pipe thing as I here it. Probably wrong key but pretty close
to the notes.
The guitar does random fills and other things I don't have time to figure.
Plus the guitar doesn't start until "rope the south wind" I think. The
whole band comes in there. I put the chords anyway.
C
Chase the dog star
G
Over the sea
D Em
Home where my true love is waiting for me
C
Rope the south wind
G
Canvas the stars
Em G
Harness the moonlight
C
So she can safely go
Em D
round the cape horn to
Em
Valparaiso
To save space I'll omit writing all the lyrics since they're in the book
anyway. And
if you don't have the album you should get it.BTW, excuse any lyrical
errors, I'm
going from memory.
G D
And every road I walked would take
Em
me down to the sea
(Same chords)
With every broken promise in my sack
And every love would always send
Em Em7
the ship of my heart.
Am C Am Em
Over the rolling sea
I think you get the idea. Lastly I would like to say I did not write any
of this myself and I intend this to be used for scholastic purposes and
in no way to rip off my musical hero Sting. I didn't get this out of any
books because to my knowledge at this time there is no such reference.
There are some places where I wasn't sure so I put the next best chord
I could think of. Have fun.
